Frequently asked questions

How do I set an alarm?

Open the Alarms screen and tap +. Choose a time, pick an alarm style, and save. Oyan rings even when your device is in silent mode or Focus, provided you allow notifications when asked.

Why does Oyan ask for access to Apple Health?

Only to show your sleep. With your permission Oyan reads sleep analysis, resting heart rate and heart rate variability so History and Sleep Analytics can show how you slept. Oyan writes to Health only when you correct a night's bedtime or wake time yourself. You can grant or revoke this any time in the Health app under Sources, and Oyan works without it.

Why does the Fajr alarm ask for my location?

Dawn depends on where you are. Oyan asks for a single, while-in-use, city-level fix to calculate it, and never stores or transmits the coordinate. You can skip the permission entirely and pick your city from the built-in list instead.

Nothing rings — what should I check?

  1. Notifications are allowed for Oyan in Settings → Notifications.
  2. Time Sensitive notifications are permitted so alarms break through Focus.
  3. The alarm is switched on, and its day-of-week schedule includes today.
  4. Your device isn't powered off — a powered-off iPhone cannot ring.

How do I restore a purchase?

Open Oyan+ from the profile screen and tap Restore at the bottom. Make sure you're signed in with the Apple Account that bought the subscription.

How do I cancel my subscription?

Subscriptions are managed by Apple, not by us: iOS Settings → your name → Subscriptions → Oyan. Cancelling stops the next renewal; you keep access until the current period ends.
